MUSICAS PARA LEVITAR DESPIERTOS:   Sumaia O – "Secret" -(2006)- Edic. independiente.-   Este disco representa una de las grandes sorpresas del año pasado. Llegó a mis manos casualmente (aunque no creo en las casualidades...) y me shockeó de inmediato a las dos primeras escuchas. La artista escondida bajo el alter ego de "Sumaia O" es Sumaia Daher, dueña de una maravillosa voz, soprano y por ende con estudios, seguramente de canto lírico. A su vez es propietaria de una singular poesía, no habitual en nuestro medio, como también de una paciencia infinita para enhebrar notables melodías de cierto corte "Pop", pero a no confundir, a éste tipo de música que recorre toda la placa yo la defino como "Alt Pop", "Pop Aristocrático" o casi "Pop de Cámara". Es el intento de llevar la canción a niveles de excelencia musical, con bellísimas armonías de pianos, teclados, bronces, violines, etc. quienes acompañan en forma maravillosa la calidez de la increíble voz de la artista de referencia cuya particularidad es cantar en inglés la mayoría de las canciones, pero dándole su registro vocal, un toque de tradición oriental, que hacen que dichas canciones suenen como escapadas de viejas cajitas musicales de origen japonés o chino. Se destaca la participación del músico Gustavo Charif como el socio musical de Sumaia en el armado de ésta pequeña joya que ha pasado desapercibida en el océano musical de lo mediático.
